BG-Mosquitaire CO2
The BG-MosquitaireTM comes with the famous Sweetscent lure, is the outdoor model, large terraces, it can be declined in several aspects depending on the environment and used as part of the PROTECTED AREA © concept
POSITIONING IS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR THE CATCH RATES. TEST DIFFERENT LOCATIONS!
Positioning examples for the BG-Mosquitito CO2 trap.
- application outdoors
- placement in shady, wind-protected moist places, near breeding sites of mosquitoes
Effect
For efficient and sustainable mosquito control it is necessary to
- continuously operate the trap (24 hours for a number of weeks)
- applicate the trap early in the season
If the traps are correctly positioned and run continuously throughout the season, they will effectively decrease the mosquito population, and you can enjoy your patio again.
Features
- standing trap made of sturdy plastic
- diameter 40 cm
- requires carbon dioxide, just like that also used in beverages
- does not require propane, butane, or other flammable gases
- does not damage beneficial insects like butterflies, bees or ladybugs
- uses no insecticides
- requires little care and maintenance
- energy-saving and safe: 12 V and 4 W
- highest capture rates
The trap comes complete with everything you need to run the trap
for two months. Only a CO2 tank must be sourced separately.
1 BG-Mosquitaire trap, 1 outdoor power supply (8-m cable, type II), 1 funnel net, 2 catch bags, 1 CO2 Y-tube (5 m) with varying flow rates, 1 Biogents CO2 emitter nozzle, 1 pressure reducing regulator (equipped with specialized sinter plugs to regulate the flow rate to either 200 or 500 g/day, according to the local and seasonal mosquito conditions), 1 BG-Basic dispenser human scent imitator (lasts for 2 months)
co2
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the most important attractant for blood-feeding insects and necessary to attract a wide range of mosquito species.
For the BG-Mosquitaire Biogents suggests as CO2 source carbon dioxide from 10 kg bottles which are also used in pubs and restaurants. Such a bottle lasts for three to seven weeks, depending on the flow rate used.Under most circumstances, we recommend a flow rate of 0.5 kilograms per day. The flow rates correspond to the rate that is released by a small child.
Carbon dioxide bottles are available at gas stores and gastronomy suppliers.
Placement of traps diminishes the local mosquito population when
- correctly positioned
- continuously operated (24 hours for a number of weeks)
- applicated early in the season
Examples of areas that can be protected by traps
- private gardens
- beer gardens, cafes, and restaurants
- parks and hotels
- campgrounds
- beach pools and forest pools
- facilities for sports and recreation
- rehabilitation clinics and wellness facilities

The BG-CO2 timer
To reduce your CO2 costs the new BG-CO2 timer allows you to control when CO2 is released by establishing specific start and stop times. It enables you to set up two start and end times to release CO2 each day.
